W What is protein powder? Protein powders come in various forms. The most popular ones are whey, soy and casein protein. The most commonly used is whey, because it’s a water-soluble milk protein and contains a very high range of protein and less fat. Furthermore it’s a complete protein, which means it contains all nine of the amino acids necessary for human dietary needs. People who are vegan may prefer soy or plant based protein. This is the standard most common Protein Powder (Whey). This is 100% vegan plant based Do we really need protein shakes? We don't, its actually better to get protein from real meals but its just the fact that protein shakes are a much quicker, and cheaper way of getting protein. Another very helpful protein supplement is creatine, a muscle building supplement. Creatine is an organic compound with the nominal formula CNCH₂CO₂H. This species exists in various modifications in solution. Creatine is found in vertebrates where it facilitates recycling of adenosine triphosphate, the energy currency of the cell, primarily in muscle and brain tissue. Is creatine worth it? Taking creatine may actually worsen performance in endurance sports because of weight gain and dehydration. Strength and short-distance athletes may benefit from taking creatine, as it generally results in increased strength and increased muscle mass. So pretty much this kinda protein supplement is not really meant for sports and more short duration but high endurance activities like weight lifting. The bad thing is, there are cons of using protein supplements. Creatine for example can cause things like this: -Kidney damage -Liver damage -Kidney stone -Weight gain -Bloating -Dehydration -Muscle cramps -Digestive problems There isn't as bad things about protein powder but certain protein powders may be high in added sugars and calories. Some protein powders have little added sugar, and others have a lot (as much as 23 grams per scoop). Some protein powders wind up turning a glass of milk into a drink with more than 1,200 calories. The risk: weight gain and an unhealthy spike in blood sugar.
