Word Wall Activity:
Choose a word you feel is important in writing, but is kind of boring. Go to google classroom and make a document with your word at the top in giant letters in BLACK. Then write interesting synonyms in various VISIBLE colours (and fonts if you choose) underneath in big enough font that we will still be able to read it. You can make it interesting looking.... or use pictures... whatever! Then submit the poster and I’ll print it in colour! We will then post them up on the wall. I attached an example that you can just modify if you want. Submit it through the “WORD WALL” assignment blurb on our Google Classroom. Here is the example. February 9 - You can view the exam page via the attached document. I challenge you to write this in 45 minutes or less... with a PERSUASIVE SLANT, lots of DESCRIPTIVE WORDS, and with many sentences in ACTIVE VOICE (since that's what we worked on this week). If you'd rather not, no problem. I just feel like it might be a good time to practice!
Here are the instructions on the exam with the topic:
INSTRUCTIONS: Using standard English, write in the Response Booklet, a coherent, unified, multi-paragraph (3 or more paragraphs) composition of at least 300 words on the topic below. In your composition, you may apply any appropriate method of development including exposition, persuasion, description, and narration. Use the Organization and Planning space to plan your work.
3. Write a multi-paragraph composition on the topic below. In addressing the topic, consider all possibilities. You may draw support from the experiences of others or from any aspect of your life: your reading and your experiences. You do not have to accept the basic premise of the topic.
